Brief Overview

Christ’s method of ministry is Global Mission’s foundation for church planting. In her classic summary of this method, Ellen White describes five vital dimensions. She writes that the Savior:

1. “Mingled with men as one who desired their good.”
2. “Showed His sympathy for them.”
3. “Ministered to their needs.”
4. “Won their confidence.”
5. “Bade them, ‘Follow Me.’” (Ministry of Healing, p. 143)

This people-first approach is evident in our work, from Global Mission pioneers who tirelessly meet physical and spiritual needs in their communities to Urban Centers of Influence that provide medical care, wholistic health education, and hope. Self-supporting tentmakers witness in their workplaces to the unreached, and students share friendship and faith on university campuses in closed countries.

We invite you to partner with us as we strive to take the gospel to the billions of unreached people around the world. God can use a single willing soul to reach a multitude. The gospel must go to the ends of the earth. And it can start with you.

Mission

The mission of the Global Mission Department of the Accra City Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is to plant churches among unreached people groups by following Christ’s method of ministry.

Christ’s Method: Inspired by Ellen White’s summary in Ministry of Healing. p.74.3 and Global Mission workers:

  • Mingle with people as those who desire their good.
  • Show sympathy for their struggles.
  • Minister to their needs in practical ways.
  • Win their confidence through genuine friendship.
  • Invite them to follow Christ.

Frontline Workers: Global Mission sends pioneers—missionaries who live among communities, meeting both physical and spiritual needs to accomplish the mission.
