Brief Overview

Adventist Muslim Relations is a new department that has proved a success and enlighten the remnant church in approach to the Muslim world. This has also helped the church in its worldwide mission of preaching the everlasting gospel to every nation, tribe and race in context of the three angels’ messages. Revelation14:6-12 Many of our beliefs can establish points of contacts with Muslims. Creation for instance, respect for the Old Testament, belief in second coming of Jesus Christ and the judgment day, things which the Muslims also believe in.

Mission

To build bridges of understanding and foster positive relationships between Seventh-day Adventists and Muslims, with the goal of harmonized coexistence and sharing God’s truth.

Goals

  • Enhance Positive Relationships: Strengthen ties between Adventist members and the Muslim community through dialogue and mutual respect.
  • Bridge-Building: Create pathways for harmonized coexistence by reducing misconceptions and promoting understanding.
  • Shared Beliefs as Contact Points: Use common values—such as belief in creation, respect for the Old Testament, the Second Coming of Jesus, and Judgment Day—as foundations for meaningful conversations.
  • Mission Outreach: Support the Adventist Church’s worldwide mission of preaching the everlasting gospel to every nation, tribe, and race in the context of Revelation 14:6–12.
  • Friendship and Dialogue: Encourage Adventists to make friends with Muslim neighbors, since personal relationships are the most effective way to learn and share faith.

Key Functions / Roles of The Department

  1. Adventist Members: Act as ambassadors of friendship, building personal relationships with Muslims in their communities.
  2. Global Mission Centers (like Centers for AMR): Provide leadership, training, and strategic direction for Adventist-Muslim engagement.
  3. Local Churches: Implement programs that foster coexistence and outreach at the grassroots level.
  4. Missionaries & Educators: Serve as facilitators of dialogue, teaching Adventists how to respectfully share their faith.
  5. Interfaith Partners: Collaborate with Muslim leaders and communities to promote peace and understanding.

Major Initiatives & Programmes

Community Donations

Provided food and essential items to Muslim communities (e.g., Burma Camp Mosque, etc.).

Guided by AMR Director Colonel Duodu and Union President Dr. Thomas Techie Ocran.

Promoted dialogue and friendship between Adventists and Muslims in Accra.

Local churches encouraged to engage Muslim neighbors through respect and service.

Reflects the global Adventist vision of peaceful coexistence and gospel outreach.
